Description
Kanoko literally means “deer’s child” in Japanese, referring to the marks on a fawn’s back. This traditional motif was originally found on textiles and was used to decorate luxurious kimonos. Here it is combined with flowers evoking the four seasons, giving the cup a unique elegance.
Ume, Kanoko, Asanoha : these three cups are decorated with traditional patterns often found on washi canisters. They are available in limited quantities. They are made by Mr Sahashi in the Sabashi workshop, renowned for its traditional and increasingly rare printing expertise. The designs are printed on thin, flexible paper, which is laid over the cup. The designs are transferred by pressure using a damp brush. They are available in limited quantities.
